The Welsh Valleys Art Collection

Painted in the Welsh Landscape

My exclusive Welsh art collection was painted both out in the landscapes of Wales and from my studio in England. Through this collection I wanted to explore the diversity and raw beauty of this often overlooked landscape, and capture the spirit of place I feel every time I cross the border.

Every original acrylic and mixed media landscape in this collection is layered with stories and paint. Some artworks include nature-inspired abstract art elements, as well as elements of collage paper and materials sourced directly from the places I visit, from local Welsh newspapers and music sheets to maps and more.

The Welsh countryside has inspired artists for centuries, from Turner and Kyffin Williams and the battle between tradition and modernity.

The scenes depicted in this collection include some landmarks of the Welsh landscape, from the rural valleys of Elan Valley, Cwmstywth and more to seaside towns, Welsh hills and valleys of the borderlands, steam railway routes and more.

Painting Wales on Location

The Welsh Valleys art collection includes a range of subjects that have inspired me most in this unique landscape, as well as elements of the history, and culture of the South Wales Valleys.

I love the old village streets with their terraced houses, the scars of industrial heritage and coal mining, and the natural beauty of the region and the character of the region's waterfalls, rivers and mountains.

Some of these paintings are more literal and others are more an abstract representation of the landscape, capturing the essence of this wonderful world in bold brushstrokes, collage and mixed media expressions.
