Garden Birds Original Acrylic & Collage Paintings
These original acrylic and mixed-media paintings are inspired by the seasonal songs and quiet dramas of the garden. I paint wrens, starlings and other back-garden visitors from both close observation and memory, seeking to bring the joy of nature indoors for everyday viewing.
Each painting in the Garden Birds collection is built from layers of paint, collage and found materials. I work outdoors when I can and in my studio, translating the energy of a bird’s song and movement into colour, texture and mark-making. The result is a series of intimate works that celebrate familiar species and the small, lived-in moments of garden life.
These originals combine acrylic paint with collage papers and materials sourced from walks and local ephemera. Expect textured surfaces, visible brushwork, hand-torn paper and occasional pressed-paper or printed fragments that add narrative depth and a sense of place.

How to display
